    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on June 21, 2024, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Division of Hotels and Restaurants, Bureau of Elevator Safety, received a petition for 900 Spanish River Blvd NE., Boca Raton, FL 33431. Petitioner seeks an Emergency Temporary variance of the requirements of ASME A17.1, 2016, edition, Sections 2.27.2 and 8.6.4.19.7 as adopted by 61C-5.001, Florida Administrative Code that requires elevators provided with an emergency or standby power system to operate the elevator in case the normal power supply fails shall comply with the requirements of 2.27.2.1 through 2.27.2.5. and operation of elevators equipped with standby, or emergency power shall be tested to determine conformance with the applicable requirements (Item 1.17.2.1). Tests shall be performed with no load in the car, which poses a significant economic/financial hardship. Any interested person may file comments within 5 days of the publication of this notice with Division of Hotels and Restaurants, Bureau of Elevator Safety, 2601 Blair Stone Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-1013 (VW2024-107).
