The Department of State, Division of Historical Resources (Division), hereby gives notice that Amelia Research and Recovery, LLC's (Petitioner), petition for variance of subsection 1A-31.0092(1), F.A.C., is denied without prejudice. The petition filed April 28, 2016, sought a variance of subsection 1A-31.0092(1), F.A.C., to allow Petitioner to file a permit renewal application for underwater exploration encompassing an area 18 square miles in size. This petition was published on May 2, 2016, in Volume 42, Number 85 of the FAR. On July 18, 2016, the Division denied the variance without prejudice because a variance was granted for the original permit and it is not necessary to grant a variance to renew that permit.
