PURPOSE AND EFFECT: To set forth revised standards for effective educational leaders that align with current research and policy, and to delineate between the roles and responsibilities of assistant principals and school principals. These standards form the foundation for school administrator evaluations and professional learning systems, school leadership preparation programs and educator certification requirements.
