    69A-37.0527Retention of Certification

    PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The purpose of the proposed rule amendments is to conform Rule 69A-37.0527, F.A.C., “Retention of Certification,” to the provisions of recently enacted amendments and to make other clarifications and updates. The retention requirements and retention time periods were amended by the Florida Legislature in SB1410, which became effective July 1, 2013. The specific effect of the proposed rule amendments is to provide individuals whose firefighter retention status was inactive prior to the implementation of the new Section 633.414 Florida Statutes (2013), a period of one year from the effective date of the proposed rule amendments to become compliant by completing the retention examination.
