To update student performance standards for: Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Mathematics Access Points-Alternate Academic Achievement Standards (AP-AAAS) Grades K-12 for students with disabilities to include additional financial literacy AP-AAAS, Social Studies AP-AAAS Grades K-12 for students with disabilities, Social Studies Grades 9-12, and Health Grades K-12. The effect will be revised standards for instruction in these grades and subject areas. The amendment also includes updates to terminology, changing Next Generation Sunshine State Standards (NGSSS) to state academic standards per a recent legislative change.
