The purpose of the proposed rule is to include drugs that are not currently addressed in the rule, to amend Form DC4-643A, and to ensure that forms are properly referenced. The effect of the rule is to allow the Department to suspend an inmate’s visitation privileges when the inmate is found using or in possession of drugs and to prevent visitors from bring the drugs into the institution. Revising Form DC4-643A will assist in better evaluating inmates in close management. Removing effective dates from forms referenced, but not incorporated in the rule will also ensure consistence regarding the property form to use.
