The Gulf Consortium is a joint public entity formed by interlocal agreement among some or all of the 23 county governments which are affected by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill pursuant to the RESTORE Act that was passed by Congress and signed into law by the President in 2012. Each of the member counties will be entitled to have one member on the Board of Directors. A director may be an elected official, appointed official, employee or other designee of a Consortium Member. This notice announces the first meeting of the Gulf Consortium. It will be organizational in nature. Please note that some of the members of the Board of Directors of the Gulf Consortium may also be members of the Commission on Oil Spill Response Coordination (the “Commission“). It is possible that Directors of the Gulf Consortium and members of the Commission may discuss items of mutual interest at meetings of either group. The Commission has scheduled meetings at 9:00 a.m. on October 29 and December 7, 2012 at the Walton County- South Annex Branch Office, 31 Coastal Centre Blvd, Santa Rosa, FL 32459 and at 9:00 a.m. on November 26, 2012, at the Emerald Coast Convention Center, 1250 Miracle Strip Parkway, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548. Notices of these meetings were published in the Florida Administrative Weekly on various dates, including the September 21, 2012 edition.
