The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, will hold a public information meeting regarding improvements to US 41 Venice By-Pass from Gulf Coast Boulevard to Bird Bay Drive in Venice, Florida. Project #198017-4-52-01. The meeting will be held as an open house format from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and give interested members of the public the opportunity to talk one-on-one with staff and make comments about the project. The project includes widening US 41 from four lanes to a six-lane roadway, improving roadway drainage, installing retention ponds, constructing 7-foot bicycle lanes, adding concrete sidewalks and relocating and/or replacing City of Venice water and sewer lines. Upgrades to lighting, signalization, and bus pads are also planned. FDOT developed this meeting in compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related statutes. FDOT solicits public participation without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status.
