Subject

Everglades Agricultural Area Storage Reservoir Scoping Meeting A scoping meeting and comment period is an open process utilized to define the purpose and need of the action (or project), identify any issues, determine the project point of contact, establish the project schedules and provide recommendations to the agency. The overall goal is to define the scope of issues to be addressed in depth in the analyses of the project features. As part of the scoping processes the South Florida Water Management District has scheduled a series of public workshops for the Everglades Agricultural Area Storage Reservoir Project to engage the public. Public scoping is a phase of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process. Scoping is the earliest, but not the only, opportunity for the public to provide input related to the Everglades Agricultural Area Storage Reservoir project. South Florida Water Management staff will present the identical information during the scoping meetings on October 23 and 26, 2017. The public is advised that it is possible that one or more members of the Water Resources Advisory Commission and Governing Board of the South Florida Water Management District may attend and participate in these meetings. Written Comments: Agencies and the public are encouraged to provide written comments on the scoping issues in addition to, or in lieu of, giving their comments at the public scoping meeting. Written comments must be received by, Wednesday, November 22, 2017, and sent to the following address: South Florida Water Management District, Attention Mike Albert, 3301 Gun Club Road, MSC 8312, West Palm Beach, FL 33406. Email: EAAreservoir@sfwmd.gov using the subject line: EAA Storage Reservoir Scoping Comment. The draft agenda will be available seven days prior to the workshop at www.sfwmd.gov/EAAreservoir
