The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Six, has scheduled a Public Hearing regarding the proposed improvements to State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway from US 1/SR 5/Dixie Highway to SR 836/Dolphin Expressway in Miami-Dade County. This hearing will begin as an open house, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with a formal presentation starting at 6 p.m. Graphic displays will be shown and FDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project and answer questions. The Public Hearing is being held to present the results of the PD&E Study and present the preferred alternative. Notices are being sent to all property owners and tenants located within at least 500 feet on either side of the corridor’s right of way line, and to other public officials, regulatory agencies, organizations, and individuals interested in the project. The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) pursuant to 23 U.S.C. §327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14, 2016 and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and FDOT.
