In January 2006, the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) entered into an agreement with the Marion County Health Department (MCHD) which delegated to MCHD authority to administer well construction permitting in those portions of Marion County located within the SWFWMD. The St. Johns River Water Management District similarly delegated authority to MCHD to administer well construction permitting in those portions of Marion County located within that District. The agreement was incorporated by reference into SWFWMD rules. The agreement is now being amended to extend the effective date to October 1, 2009. The proposed rule amendment will incorporate by reference the amended agreement.
