The intent of the project is to evaluate the need for increasing the capacity for the east-west travel demands on U.S. 98 (Panama City Beach Parkway) in Panama City Beach. The intent of this hearing is to present the results from the engineering and environmental analysis conducted on the recommended build alternative. Public input received will be incorporated into the final documents and will be used in selecting a preferred alternative to be carried forward to the design phase which is funded. Right-of-way acquisition and construction are not funded in the current FDOT Five-Year Work Program.
Draft study documents and other information depicting the proposed improvement will be available for public review at the hearing. Draft project documents are available for public review from September 19, 2017, until October 20, 2017, at the following locations:
• Panama City Beach Public Library, 12500 Hutchison Boulevard,
Panama City Beach
o Monday – Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
o Thursday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
o Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• City of Panama City Beach, 104 South Arnold Road, Panama City
Beach
o Monday – Friday from 8: a.m. to 4 p.m.
During the informal portion of the hearing, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) representatives will be available to discuss the project, answer questions, and receive your comments. Maps, drawings, and other information will be on display. A court reporter will also be available to receive your comments. During the formal portion of the hearing, FDOT will make a formal presentation which will be followed by public comments. Additional project information will also be available at www.nwflroads.com.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by the FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14, 2016 and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and FDOT.
