The Florida Department of Environmental Protection will hold public meetings (one in the afternoon, and one in the evening) to discuss the South Florida Canal Aquatic Life Study. The objectives of the study are to: (1) assess aquatic life in South Florida canals; (2) determine interrelationships between aquatic life in canals and other variables that affect that aquatic life; (3) evaluate the differences in conditions for South Florida canals; and (4) collect information that can be used to guide management decisions. The Department will provide an overview of the proposed draft study design and will take comments on the proposal.
