Amica Mutual Insurance Company has requested a 23.2% overall increase for new and renewal home owners policies and a 140.5% increase for new and renewal dwelling fire policies, to be effective February 1, 2008. The rate increases are not uniform and some areas are subject to higher rate increases. Florida law allows the Office of Insurance Regulation to hold a public hearing for any purpose within the scope of the Insurance Code deemed to be necessary.
