The hearing is being held to allow interested persons the opportunity to provide comments concerning the recommended “Build” Alternative for the project. The project proposes widening I-75 from four to eight lanes with construction occurring in two phases. Phase one would widen the interstate from four to six lanes to accommodate existing traffic needs. As traffic increases in the future, phase two would widen the interstate from six to eight lanes. The public hearing is being conducted pursuant to Chapter 339, Florida Statutes, 23 CFR 771, 23 U.S.C. 128, Chapter 120 Florida Statutes and Title VI and Title VIII of the United States Civil Rights Acts of 1964 and 1968.
