The Tampa-Hillsborough County Expressway Authority invites you to attend and participate in a public hearing for the project development and environment study for proposed improvements to the Selmon Expressway (SR 618) Downtown Viaduct from Florida Avenue to South 22nd Street in Hillsborough County, Florida; WPI Segment No: 4163614. PURPOSE: This public hearing is being held to afford interested persons the opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, and social, economic, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements to the Selmon Expressway. The study evaluated possible user-financed improvements to the downtown viaduct from Florida Avenue to South 22nd Street, a distance of approximately 1.7 miles, in Tampa, FL. The preferred build alternative includes widening the existing roadway and bridge to add an additional lane in each direction, making the expressway a six-lane roadway.
