This workshop is being conducted to present an opportunity for the following entities to discuss the future of westbound old Trammell Bridge. Calhoun County, Liberty County, City of Blountstown, City of Bristol officials and key staff, Calhoun and Liberty Counties respective Chambers of Commerce, Apalachee Regional Planning Council, and the Calhoun Liberty Hospital. This workshop is open to the public.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate multiple alternatives relating to the westbound old Trammell Bridge and how these alternatives will impact vehicle and navigational activities along the project area, as well as, identify how the bridge’s function provides service to the local community. A public kick-off meeting was held Thursday, February 21, 2019, to introduce the project and study timeline. A second public meeting will follow this workshop in summer 2020 to provide the public an opportunity to review updated project information, ask questions, and provide input.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by the FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14, 2016 and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and FDOT.
