The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, will hold a public hearing about roadway improvements. These modifications are part of a project on US 92 from Wabash Avenue to west of E. Gary Road, Polk County, FL. The project includes concrete rehabilitation of the roadway, median modifications, full replacement of overhead lighting (from Wabash Avenue to Lake Parker Avenue), and the installation of four overhead mounted pedestrian signals. The pedestrian signals are called High-Intensity Activated crossWalK beacon (HAWK) signals or pedestrian hybrid beacons. The public hearing will focus on the median modifications and the new HAWK signals between Lincoln Avenue and Ingraham Avenue.
