Purpose


The purpose of the rule amendment is to include Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test 2.0 (FCAT 2.0) Reading, Mathematics, and Algebra I End-of-Course (EOC) Assessment scale scores for grade level and achievement level as part of the rule governing the statewide assessment program. The effect will be to permit reporting of student achievement on the FCAT 2.0 Reading, Mathematics, and Algebra I EOC Assessments in achievement levels, proving a better understanding of student strengths or needs, as well as summaries of performance for use in the educational accountability system. In addition, this rule will incorporate the cut score for the Algebra I EOC Assessment that indicates if a student is high achieving and has the potential to meet college-readiness standards by the time they graduate from high school.
