This meeting is being held to afford interested persons the opportunity to express their views concerning the development of Choice Counseling as a part of Florida Senior Care. Section 409.912(5), Florida Statutes, mandates the Agency for Health Care Administration, in consultation with the Department of Elder Affairs, to create an “integrated, fixed-payment delivery system for Medicaid recipients who are 60 years of age or older. The Agency for Health Care Administration shall implement the integrated system initially on a pilot basis in two areas of the state.” This proposed managed integrated long-term care program will be implemented in the following areas of the state upon Legislative approval: The Panhandle Pilot Area- Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton Counties; and the Central Florida Pilot Area- Seminole, Orange, Brevard and Osceola Counties.
