The proposed rule amendments will update definitions; clarify and update reporting requirements; add new diseases and conditions that must be reported; update incorporated documents, references, and citations; add additional information and requirements regarding notification by practitioners and by laboratories; clarify procedures for control of specific communicable diseases and add new procedures, including for additional diseases; and to update requirements around tuberculosis reporting to reflect systemic updates.
