Summary
The amendments and new rules will accomplish the following:
(1) Amend and add new definitions.
(2) Update rule and statutory references.
(3) Repeal unnecessary language.
(4) Establish criteria for Department recognition of accrediting organizations and credentialing entities.
(5) Establish requirements for licenses, including (a) Obtaining probationary, interim, and regular licenses, (b) Displaying of licenses, (c) Changing the status of a license, (d) Fees and fines, (e) Application and renewal requirements and licensing procedures, and (f) Licensing standards.
(6) Establish requirements regarding clinical records, treatment plans, progress notes, and summaries.
(7) Establish requirements regarding screening and placement in residential and outpatient treatment facilities.
(8) Outline the rights of individuals.
(9) Establish requirement regarding staff training, qualifications, and scope of practice.
(10) Outline facility standards.
(11) Set forth responsibilities regarding offender referrals under Chapter 397, F.S.
(12) Establish requirements regarding eligibility determinations for voluntary and involuntary placements.
(13) Outline treatment standards.
