In partnership with the Florida Regional Planning Councils (RPCs), the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO), the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) and federal partners, the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration (EDA) is hosting "Economic Resiliency & Recovery from Hurricane Irma” workshops in February 2018. The workshops will emphasize best practices and resources for economic recovery specifically for the SWFL region. The event will also help community leaders learn more what their role should be and how to prioritize actions for short and long-term recovery. Federal, state and IEDC officials will also present information about state, federal and private sector resources that are available to assist. The interactive workshop will provides participants with practical tools and inspiring examples to support critical economic recovery and long-term resiliency activities. A companion event for business owners and managers will be held on the same day and location. The workshop will run from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and will cover essentials of business continuity and various types of support that is available for businesses in our area.
