Subject

The purpose of the public meeting is to share project information and seek comments on the alignment and station alternatives being studied for an Environmental Assessment, an environmental document, for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Southeast Corridor project. The potential improvements involve an 11.6-mile alignment on existing surface streets and predominantly within existing right of way. The proposed alignment extends from downtown Jacksonville at Kings Avenue/Manning Street to a multimodal hub at Avenues Walk/The Avenues mall/Southside Boulevard. Alignment and station alternatives are currently under study that will allow JTA to provide improved service, minimize costs, and improve transit operations. This meeting is being held as an open house, and JTA representatives will be available during the meeting to informally discuss the project and answer questions. Anyone attending the public meeting may submit comments at the meeting or mail comments to: Winova Hart-Mayer, Jacksonville Transportation Authority, 100 North Myrtle Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32204 or email: whart@jtafla.com. Public participation at this meeting is sought without regard to race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability or family status.
