The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is holding a series of Gulf of Mexico red snapper public workshops to gather angler input on the 2015 Gulf recreational red snapper season in state waters. At the workshops, staff will solicit input on a proposed season that would start the Saturday before Memorial Day (May 23) and run through July 12, resume for all of Labor Day weekend (Sept. 5-7) and finish with Saturdays and Sundays throughout September and October, with the season ending Nov. 1. This was the preferred season option discussed by Commissioners during the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s February meeting in Jacksonville. Anyone who would like to give input on the state season for 2015 is encouraged to attend.
