The Florida Department of Transportation will host an open house to provide details on the upcoming construction project on 6th Street, from US 17/92 (East Hinson Avenue) to Wood Avenue, in Haines City, Florida. Improvements being made as part of this project consist of installing new drainage pipe and structures, resurfacing the roadway, building sidewalk and driveways, installing handrail, replacing curb and gutter, constructing on-street parking bays, painting crosswalks at intersections, installing a brick paver crosswalk south of East Hinson Avenue, and adding landscaping and decorative signs and lighting. There will be no formal presentation. Project staff will be available to answer questions regarding access to businesses and residents, lane closures and other project related information.
