Policy Committee Meeting, Avon Park Air Force Range Joint Land Use Study (JLUS) SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS: Please advise Kathy Hall, (khall@cfrpc.org) of your intention to attend. Please bring your driver's license in order to pass through Range security. The Central Florida Regional Planning Council (CFRPC) is working with the Avon Park Air Force Range (APAFR) to implement the APAFR Joint Land Use Study (JLUS) with the Counties of Highlands, Okeechobee, Osceola, and Polk, and the Cities of Avon Park, Frostproof and Sebring. The Policy Committee, representing elected officials from the above jurisdictions, the APAFR, and affected agencies is responsible for the overall guidance of the JLUS, approval of draft and final written reports, approval of policy recommendations, and monitoring the implementation of adopted policies. A meeting of the Policy Committee will be held at the APAFR on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. The Range Commander of the APAFR, Lt. Col. Daniel Edgar, will present an overview of the Range operations. The work completed as part of the second JLUS Implementation Grant awarded by the Office of Economic Adjustment, U.S. Department of Defense, and the continued public involvement plan will also be discussed.
