Purpose
To amend the requirements for teacher preparation programs to align with statutory changes and provide clarity. Proposed changes include the addition of strategies and practices to support evidence-based content aligned to state standards and grading practices to the Uniform Core Curricula (UCC), revise criteria for continued program approval, allow continued approval of a teacher preparation program based upon a review by a nationally recognized accrediting entity, and require a minimum number of hours of preservice field experience before serving as the teacher of record.
