The Florida Defense Support Task Force was established during the 2011 Legislative Session and given the following missions: Make recommendations to maximize the position of Florida's installations in any strategic basing or other competitive process. Strengthen Florida's defense industries, as well as cultivate defense research, development, test and evaluation capabilities. Improve the state's military-friendly environment for service members, military dependents, military retirees, and businesses which bring military and base-related jobs to Florida.
