The City of Lakeland (City) will conduct a public hearing for the proposed improvements at the intersection of US 92 (New Tampa Highway) and Wabash Avenue in Polk County, Florida. The public hearing will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Trinity Life Church of God located at 1942 W. Memorial Blvd., Lakeland, Florida 33815. The public hearing will begin as an open house at 5pm, with a formal presentation at 5:45pm, followed by a public comment period. The proposed improvements consist of adding a second left turn lane for eastbound traffic with added two-foot wide concrete separators. The proposed intersection improvement will also include constructing concrete sidewalk along the north side of US 92 between Chestnut Road and Wabash Avenue; Additionally, sidewalk will be constructed on both sides of Wabash Avenue between Lanier Street and US 92. This public hearing is being conducted to give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, and social, economic, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements.
