The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announces that a public hearing pursuant to the requirements of 40 C.F.R. 60.23 will be held, if requested, at the date, time and place given above. The purpose of the public hearing is to receive comments on DEP’s proposal to submit to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) a Designated Facility Plan under section 111(d) of the federal Clean Air Act for implementation of the sewage sludge incinerator regulations promulgated by EPA on March 21, 2011. DEP has identified one facility subject to these regulations.
It is not necessary that the hearing be held or attended in order for persons to comment on DEP’s proposed submittal to EPA. If no request for a public hearing is received, the hearing will be cancelled, and notice of the cancellation will be posted at the following website: http://sharepoint.dep.state.fl.us/PublicNotices/default.asp. The materials comprising DEP’s proposed 111(d) Plan are accessible from the above website by clicking on the April 11 hearing link.
