Pursuant to 40 CFR 51.102, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announces the opportunity to offer comments or request a public hearing on a proposed revision to Florida’s State Implementation Plan (SIP) under the Clean Air Act (CAA). DEP proposes to submit to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) amendments to its previously submitted regional haze plan as required pursuant to sections 169A and 169B of the CAA and EPA regulations at 40 CFR 51.308. Specifically, DEP proposes to incorporate into its proposed SIP revision updated information regarding the disposition of sources subject to Best Available Retrofit Technology and Reasonable Progress. A public hearing will be held, if requested, at the date, time and place given above. It is not necessary that the hearing be held or attended in order for persons to comment on DEP’s proposed submittal to EPA. Any request for a public hearing must be submitted by letter or e-mail to Marnie Brynes, Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Resource Management, 2600 Blair Stone Road, MS #5500, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-2400, Marnie.Brynes@dep.state.fl.us and received no later than May 14, 2012. Any comments must be submitted by letter or e-mail to Tom Rogers at the above address or Tom.Rogers@dep.state.fl.us, with a copy to Ms. Brynes, and received no later than May 14, 2012. If no request for a public hearing is received, the hearing will be cancelled, and notice of the cancellation will be posted at the following website: http://sharepoint.dep.state.fl.us/PublicNotices/default.asp. The materials comprising DEP’s proposed SIP revision are accessible from the above website by clicking on the May 16 hearing link. The materials may also be inspected during normal business hours at the DEP, Division of Air Resource Management offices, 111 S. Magnolia Dr., Suite 23, Tallahassee, Florida, or accessed with the aid of any DEP District Air Section or DEP-approved local air pollution control office.
