Purpose
To update the requirements for teacher preparation programs due to statutory changes and provide further clarity. Proposed changes include adding strategies and practices to support evidence-based content aligned to state standards and grading practices to the Uniform Core Curricula (UCC), revising criteria for continued program approval, allowing continued approval of a teacher preparation program based upon a review by a nationally recognized accrediting entity, and requiring a minimum number of hours of preservice field experience before serving as a teacher of record.
