Pursuant to 40 CFR 51.102, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announces a public hearing and opportunity to offer comments on a proposed revision to Florida’s State Implementation Plan (SIP) under the Clean Air Act. This proposed SIP revision consists of a request to redesignate the portion of Nassau County that is designated as “nonattainment” with respect to the 2010 revised sulfur dioxide (SO2) national ambient air quality standard (NAAQS) to “attainment” and a request to approve an associated maintenance SIP that will ensure the continued attainment of the 2010 SO2 NAAQS in the area. The materials comprising DEP’s proposed SIP revision may be obtained through the Department’s website at https://floridadep.gov/air/air-business-planning/content/air-regulatory-projects or by contacting Hastings Read at Hastings.Read@dep.state.fl.us. The materials may also be inspected during normal business hours at DEP, Division of Air Resource Management offices, Bob Martinez Center, 2600 Blair Stone Road, Tallahassee, Florida. A public hearing will be held, if requested, at the date, time and place given above. Any request for a public hearing must be submitted by letter or e-mail to Hastings Read, Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Resource Management, 2600 Blair Stone Road, MS #5500, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-2400 (Hastings.Read@dep.state.fl.us), and received no later than May 29, 2018.
