Two public hearings are being held for the Gulf Coast Parkway, a new road that will connect U.S. 98 in Gulf County with U.S. 231 and U.S. 98 (Tyndall Parkway) in Bay County, a distance of approximately 30 miles. The proposed roadway will use a combination of existing and new alignment within a 168-foot to 250-foot wide right-of-way. These public hearings are being conducted to give interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, and social, economic, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements in accordance with Federal Executive Orders 11990 and 11988. This public hearing will also address proposed access management changes that would occur as a result of the project. The draft project documents including the Environmental Impact Statement, Preliminary Engineering Report and all other technical documents will be available for public review from April 11 to May 23, 2014, at the Bay County Public Library, 898 West 11th Street, Panama City and at the Gulf County Public Library, 110 Library Drive, Port St Joe.
