PURPOSE: To discuss the preparation of the Annual Action Plan for Federal Fiscal Year 2012 and to review the draft of the Action Plan once it is completed. SUMMARY: The State of Florida is required to submit an Annual Action Plan to the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in order to receive federal funding from that agency. The Plan must cover the grant programs funded by HUD. Grant programs included in the Plan are the Florida Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG), Home Investment Partnership (HOME) and Housing Opportunities for Persons with Aids (HOPWA). The Plan must specify the manner in which the funds will be distributed to eligible applicants. ACTION TO BE TAKEN: At the public meeting to be held on April 24, 2012, staff from the CDBG, ESG, HOME and HOPWA programs will provide an overview of the programs and answer questions. Interested parties are encouraged to attend. A draft of the Action Plan will be available for review and comment on April 24, 2012, the date of the public meeting. It will also be posted to the Department’s website: http://www.floridajobs.org/community-planning-and-development/assistance-for-governments-and-organizations/community-development-block-grant-program/state-of-florida-consolidated-plan. Comments on the draft will be accepted from April 24, 2012 through May 14, 2012. Written comments on the draft of the Annual Action Plan are encouraged. They may be made at the public meeting or mailed to the address listed.
