Summary

Pursuant to 68A-27.0012, F.A.C., species listed under the federal Endangered Species Act shall also be listed on the Florida Endangered and Threatened Species list by virtue of their federal designation. In November 2020 the eastern black rail was federally listed as Threatened and the American burying beetle was reclassified from federally Endangered to federally Threatened. Adding the eastern black rail and the American burying beetle to the Florida Endangered and Threatened Species List will maintain consistency among state and federal rules pertaining to these species.
