The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has new information concerning PD&E studies for State Road (S.R.) 85 (S. Ferdon Boulevard) from S.R. 123 to Mirage Avenue and Interstate 10 (I-10) from west of S.R. 281 (Avalon Boulevard) to west of County Road (C.R.) 189 (Log Lake Road) and from west of C.R. 189 (Log Lake Road) to east of S.R. 85 (S. Ferdon Boulevard) in Santa Rosa and Okaloosa Counties available online at nwflroads.com. The virtual project updates can be accessed anytime, anywhere beginning 12 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2020. This information provides interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the proposed improvements. The intent of the S.R. 85 PD&E study is to widen S. Ferdon Boulevard from four to six lanes from S.R. 123 (Roger J Clary Highway) to Mirage Avenue and reconstruct the interchange at I-10 as a diverging diamond interchange. The intent of the I-10 PD&E studies is to widen I-10 from four to six lanes from west of Avalon Boulevard to west of Log Lake Road and from west of Log Lake Road to east of S.R. 85 in Santa Rosa and Okaloosa Counties. Interchange improvements will be evaluated as necessary. FDOT representatives will be available to discuss the proposed improvements, answer questions, and receive comments via phone, email or mail. The deadline to submit official comments related to the project updates is Tuesday, June 9, 2020.
