To provide school districts and K-12 schools, including charter schools, with notice of the Office of Safe Schools’ procedures for monitoring and addressing issues of suspected noncompliance with safety requirements, including required reporting and training. Additionally, the rule will set forth procedures for school district school safety specialists to monitor schools within their district, to include charter schools with regard to safety and security. The rule will also set forth certain safety measures that public schools are required to meet.
