Purpose
To provide an additional option for students to earn a concordant score to satisfy graduation requirements pertaining to the grade 10 English Language Arts (ELA) assessment and to earn a comparative score to satisfy graduation requirements pertaining to the Algebra 1 End-of-Course (EOC) assessment. Section 1008.22(9)-(10), F.S., provides authority to the State Board of Education to adopt in rule passing scores that are concordant to the statewide, standardized grade 10 ELA assessment and comparative to the Algebra 1 EOC assessment. The effect of this change will be to allow the Department of Education to codify in rule passing scores on the Classic Learning Test that serve as concordant and comparative scores for meeting the statewide assessment criteria of students’ graduation requirements. In addition, the rule is being updated to align it with statute.
