Project Description: State Road 80/Southern Boulevard from west of Lion Country Safari Road to Forest Hill Boulevard/Crestwood Boulevard, in Palm Beach County, FL.
The project consists of widening SR 80/Southern Boulevard in western Palm Beach County from four to six lanes and adding pedestrian and bicycle enhancements. The 7.2-mile project in the Village of Royal Palm Beach, Village of Wellington, Town of Loxahatchee Groves and unincorporated Palm Beach County will include paved shoulders in rural areas, buffered bike lanes in urban areas and a 12-foot shared-use pathway. Other improvements include milling and resurfacing, drainage improvements, lighting, curb and gutter, guardrails, signage and pavement markings.
Construction will begin in spring 2018 and is estimated to be completed in summer 2021. The estimated construction cost is $33 million.
During the informal open house, attendees will have the opportunity to review roadway improvements, construction plans and traffic control plans. FDOT staff and consultant staff members will be available to discuss the project and answer questions.
