: The purpose of this rule amendment is to incorporate by reference an erratum to the July 2004 update to the Florida Medicaid Nursing Facility Services Coverage and Limitations Handbook. The erratum allows physicians to delegate all nursing facility patient visits to a physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or clinical nurse specialist. Prior policy required the physician to personally make every other visit. This change was made to bring Medicaid policy in compliance with Medicare policy. The effect will be to incorporate by reference in the rule the erratum to July 2004 update to the Florida Medicaid Nursing Facility Services Coverage and Limitations Handbook.
