The District proposed several revisions to the Caloosahatchee River MFL and the associated exceedance and violation criteria. In support of its revisions, the District used a resource-based approach to determine the flow requirements of multiple ecological indicators. A copy of the Technical Document to Support Re-evaluation of the Minimum Flow Criteria for the Caloosahatchee River Estuary (Technical Document) is available on the District’s website at https://www.sfwmd.gov/science-data/web-boards. The approach incorporated 11 component studies, using indicator species with an integrated modeling approach. At the first public workshop, the District will discuss and consider potential supplementary statistical approaches and mathematical analyses using the original data contained in the Technical Document. At the second public workshop, the District will provide the results of any additional analyses/evaluations that utilize the resource-based approach and receive feedback. Public comment regarding additional analyses using the original data provided in the Technical Document are encouraged to aid in discussion for this meeting. The District will then present the results of any additional analyses/evaluations and adopt a Caloosahatchee River MFL as well as exceedance and violation criteria at the public hearing on July 11, 2019.
