The purpose of this rule is to ensure consistency for students who transfer to a Florida public school after grade 6. The effect of this rule will be to provide consistency for students who enter a Florida public middle school at the seventh or eighth grade from out of state or from a foreign country by not requiring them to spend additional time in a Florida public school in order to meet the middle grades promotion requirements if the student has met all of the promotion requirements of the school district, state or country from which he or she is transferring.
