Hartford Accident and Indemnity Company, Hartford Casualty Insurance Company, Hartford Fire Insurance Company, Hartford Insurance Company of the Midwest, Hartford Insurance Company of the Southeast, Hartford Underwriters Insurance Company, Twin City Fire Insurance Company, and Property and Casualty Insurance Company of Hartford have requested a 21.4% average statewide rate increase for commercial residential condos and a 21.4% average statewide rate increase for commercial residential, excluding condos. The requested rate increase was not uniform and some areas are subject to a higher rate increase. Florida law allows the Office of Insurance Regulation to hold a public hearing for any purpose within the scope of the Insurance Code deemed to be necessary.
