The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), in cooperation with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), is currently executing a contract to achieve the hydrologic restoration of the Three Lakes Wildlife Management Area. The project is intended to find a set of structures needed to replace the G-113 structure so that a more natural flow pattern is achieved in the area. This 4-phase project is now at the beginning of its second phase. The SFWMD and the FWC included a series of Public Workshops in the current phase. During this meeting there will be a presentation providing a description of project goals, a summary of the assessments and findings of Phase I, and a description of the work plan and timeline for Phase II. Additionally, there will be an opportunity for the project team to solicit input from the public in regards to ideas and concerns related to the restoration of the area.
