During the 2024 Legislative Session, the Legislature passed Senate Bill 7004, which, among other measures, amended s. 1008.25(9)(b), F.S., to specify that students in the summer prekindergarten program must only participate in FAST twice per program. The Division of Early Learning is working to amend Rule 6M-8.620, F.A.C., to provide guidance on how summer VPK programs should administer FAST. To avoid duplication and increase clarity, this amendment will clarify that scheduling guidance for these programs will be provided in Rule 6M-8.620, F.A.C.
