Financial Management No. 432407-1-52-01 Project Description: Public Meeting for SR50 (Colonial Drive) from SR500/US441/17-92 to Shine Ave. Resurfacing Project The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding a second public meeting regarding the resurfacing of State Road (SR) 50 (Colonial Drive) in Orlando. The project consists of resurfacing 1.6 miles of SR 50 from just east of US 441 to Shine Avenue. The section of SR 50 between Lake Dot Circle and Orange Avenue is not included in this project and will be fully reconstructed as part of Financial Project ID PID No. 242484-4, the I-4 Ultimate Project. The limits of milling and resurfacing on SR 50 will include all travel lanes, turn lanes, and parking lanes. Pedestrian upgrades will include new pedestrian signals with count down features and upgraded curb ramps to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. This second public meeting is being held to solicit input for a major change since the first public meeting on February 5, 2015. The project will now eliminate the current on-street parking on both sides of SR 50 from Westmoreland Drive to Lake Dot Circle. A designated bike lane will now be provided in the space previously striped for parking. The project is currently funded for construction in 2016.
