These public meetings are intended for stakeholders including providers of home and community-based service (HCBS) programs under the 1915(c), 1915(i), and 1915(k) Medicaid authorities. In March 2014, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services issued a final rule for home and community-based programs, the HCB Settings Rule. These public meetings will give stakeholders a general overview of the federal rule and introduce the draft HCB Characteristics Review Tool–Residential Settings and the HCB Characteristics Review Tool–Non-Residential Settings for public input. When finalized, providers will be able to use these tools to self-assess their settings in order to be compliant with the HCB Settings Rule. The meetings held from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. will be open to all stakeholders and dedicated to the Long-term Care Waiver, Project AIDS Care Waiver, and Traumatic Brain Injury/Spinal Cord Injury Waiver. The meetings held from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. will be open to all stakeholders and dedicated to the Developmental Disabilities Individual Budgeting (iBudget) Waiver. The Agency for Health Care Administration (Agency) will post the draft tools on its website beginning July 10, 2015 through July 30, 2015. The HCB Characteristics Review Tools can be viewed on the Agency’s website at the following link: http://ahca.myflorida.com/Medicaid/hcbs_waivers/index.shtml.
