SUMMARY: The state of Florida is required to submit an Action Plan to the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in order to receive federal funding from that agency. The Action Plan must cover the grant programs funded by HUD. Grant programs included in the Action Plan are administered by four state agencies: the Florida Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) by the Department of Economic Opportunity; the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) by the Department of Children and Families; the Home Investment Partnership (HOME) and National Housing Trust Fund (HTF) by the Florida Housing Finance Corporation and the Housing Opportunities for Persons with Aids (HOPWA) by the Department of Health. The Action Plan must specify the manner in which the funds will be distributed to eligible applicants. ACTION TO BE TAKEN: At the workgroup meeting to be held on July 17, 2017, staff from the CDBG, ESG, HOME, HTF and HOPWA Programs will provide an overview of the programs and answer questions. Interested parties are encouraged to attend. Another public meeting will be conducted on July 31, 2017, to review and accept comments on the drafted Action Plan. The draft of the Action Plan will also be posted on the Department’s website: http://www.floridajobs.org/Annual-Action-Plan.
